The spring term edition of Bespoke, has features on SKTM programmes, RIWG Work Groups and a few of those among you in Maths Hub leadership roles

NCETM March Newsletter focuses on the free seminars linked to the Checkpoints activities. These seminars are designed to tie in with the publication of the next batch, on the theme of Understanding multiplicative relationships: fractions and ratio.

Also highlighted are weekly Twitter-based chats, and a report from some of the research and innovation going on around the Maths Hubs Network.

The Primary Round-up for March has a blend of material including immediate classroom ideas, medium-term planning suggestions, and articles to prompt thinking about ongoing professional development.

  • Number lines - five suggestions of how to use a number line in KS1
  • Resources - how one school has used the NCETM's curriculum prioritisation resource to plan the teaching of multiplication in Year 2
  • Research - how local, innovative work in Maths Hubs can influence the shape of large national projects
  • Early maths - how techniques and approaches in Nursery and Reception can continue to be important higher up the school.
